'Paula Morris is that rare thing among literary novelists - someone who can write with depth and subtlety and also tune up a plot ... Morris has a nose for our times. Like Dickens, she can tell a great story but also "catch" the world we live in, with all its complications and ambiguities.' Lydia Wevers, New Zealand Listener

Paula Morris (Ngati Wai) was born in Auckland. She is the author of three Penguin novels: Queen of Beauty, Hibiscus Coast, and Trendy But Casual. She lives in New Orleans. Paula is also editing the upcoming Penguin Book of Contemporary New Zealand Short Stories.
