Short Stories

Set in Aotearoa’s small towns and cities, the stories in this pukapuka dissect moments where the past crashes into the present – which can happen anywhere. In carports and kitchens. On stairwells. The protagonists meet truth and must decide whether to stand, fall or run.

Frankie McMillan (The Father of Octopus Wrestling) has said of Hailman“Clear eyed and nuanced, these deeply moving stories show characters whose pasts often catch up with their present lives. As in the best of poetry, it leaves your heart a few sizes larger… Full of insight into the human condition, and with a poet’s eye for the natural world, these stories ripple out in every widening circles. Radojkovich is a fresh, exciting new voice on the New Zealand/Aotearoa literary scene.”
