This book provides a context and a benchmark for letterpress printers, setting both a challenge and an incentive to emerging young artists and designers to explore the unlimited potential of this medium in their own ways and to expand the boundaries of what is possible with a new spin on old technology.

Additionally a highly collectable, limited edition, McLeod letterpress print on rare paper has been tipped-in to every copy. This book provides a context and a benchmark for letterpress printers, setting both a challenge and an incentive to emerging young artists and designers. Challenging them to explore the unlimited potential of this medium in their own ways and to further expand the fast-moving boundaries of what is possible with a new spin on this old technology. Although not a complete catalogue of the works of The Pear Tree Press this book presents a representative sample of McLeod's work, far more exists in private collections and in the form of ephemera - leaflets, posters, invitations, cards and bookmarks.
