Rangi Mātāmua, nicknamed ‘The Aotearoa Star Man’, is a New Zealand indigenous studies and Māori cultural astronomy academic of Tūhoe descent. He sits on the Matariki Advisory Group that oversees the nationwide celebration. Co-author Miriama Kamo is an award-winning journalist and well-known current affairs broadcaster. Isobel Joy Te Aho-White skilfully weaves Te Ao Māori into her beautiful illustrations.
